Commerce has always been the backbone of the entire system of economy of any country or any business. After the completion of 12th in commerce subjects there are no. of career options for making entry for commerce as a stream has got a sea of options and various opportunities hidden in it. Because of the practical facts it has, this career is full of hard challenges. Students are attracted in this field because of its unpredictability. A part of commerce is so calculative like accounts and the second is quite unpredictable i.e. finance. Commerce comes into action from business and goes back into it. Candidates interested in business also look forward to pursue courses in commerce to gain a step ahead knowledge. Due to globalization there is no count of the business that is taking place in countries and abroad and therefore commerce is becoming very relevant and popular among students now-a-days.
There are various subjects studied under commerce stream some being theortical like Business Law and others being practical like Financial accounting, Business finance, Auditing,Taxation etc. Every subjects dealing with different category of functioning of business. Commerce creates markets for surplus products, widening its application in different fields. Being in every area for applicability makes it why commerce will never have a job recession.
There are various courses in commerce which could be pursued after class 12th keeping the area of interest in mind. B.com and M.com degrees, BBA, BBM,B.A in specific fields are the traditional degree courses on one hand and professional courses like C.A /ICWA makes a candidate more into accounting whereas CFA creates a financial market laureate. Stock brokers, portfolio managers, investment bankers,C.As,C.Ss,Cost and Work accountants are created by going through these professional courses. Whereas after following economics and courses in banking, Economists,Bankers are produced which are in high demand among govt. and non-govt. companies.
Few candidates however are not suitable with the time duration of the degree programs and there uncertainty to employment and so they look forward to practical courses with training programs as an add-on. So there are various diploma and certificate courses which provide entry level jobs in the field of commerce. As of now, accounts, finance and banking have remained the area of interest among institutes for giving expertise to the candidates willing to pursue it. Highly trained professionals are hired to provide the professional and diploma course study to the candidates enrolled in the courses. Govt. and private institutes in and around Delhi have divided the content of study of each certificate and diploma program in a way that a candidate can go through what he will be exactly taught once he gets enrolled. The best part of these short and long term programs is the training a candidate gets along with the regular study institute provides. Few institutes have tie-ups with financial firms to let the candidate have a hands-on knowledge of whatever he has learnt.
Therefore if commerce field draws your attention, you can go for any of the mentioned field to choose better career option as per your interest.
